As an initiative of the Southport Catholic Parish, Angels Kitchen is a community outreach facility established for the sole purpose and function of providing a home cooked, sit-down, waited on meal each Sunday to needy people who require food assistance at weekends. It has worked continuously, every Sunday since May 1993.
This challenging Parish ministry is non-discriminatory and non-judgmental. It offers a listening ear to the clients and for those who need various services- refers them to the appropriate Agency or Agencies.
Although funding is not available for this not-for-profit parish facility, Angels Kitchen is supported by generous parishioners and other supporters and volunteers who give their time cheerfully each week to shop for and cook the food or staff the facility.
